Hoffmann's fairy tale ‘The Nutcracker and the Mouse King,’ we immediately imagine New Year's decorations, an awkward wooden humanoid figure, and a great battle with an army of mice. Ukrainian artists decided to slightly change the well-known classic plot. In particular, Honoured Artist of Ukraine Harry Sevoyan wrote a unique new libretto for the performance, and Ukrainian composer Lyudmila Samodayeva created a modern musical accompaniment.

But despite these changes, the ballet ‘The Christmas Fairy Tale’ remains a story about the great power of love, friendship and goodness. It features the same beloved characters: the doll maker Drosselmeyer, young Marie and the brave Prince Nutcracker. They will need a lot of strength and courage to defeat the insidious and evil Mouse King. How will the main characters succeed?
